1977년 캔자스가 발표한 곡으로 세계적으로 인기를 얻었습니다. 이당시 캔자스 멤버들의 모습은 히피스타일을 넘어 거의 도인처럼도 보입니다. 그래서 그런지 곡도 이렇게 철학적이네요. 

인생이란 그저 바람속의 티끌 일진 (一塵)에 불과한것인지도 모른다. 땅과 하늘 이외에는 영원한 것이란 없지. 모든 재산을 다 쏟아부어도 1분의 시간도 살수 없는거라네. 끝없는 대양속의 물한방울, 바람속의 티끌같은 존재가 바로 우리들이지........

허무주의 같지만, 사실은 맞는 말이기에 달리 반박할만한 바를 찾지 못하겠습니다. 무엇이 중요한건지, 왜 사는건지 하는 근본적인 물음까지도 생각하게 만드는 곡입니다. 

기타를 배우기 시작하고 어느 정도의 수준에 도달하면 three finger라는 주법을 익히게 됩니다. 사실 "기타좀 치네"의 경계는 바로 이 스리핑거라고 생각해도 될정도이지요. 이 three finger를 배우면 누구나 한번쯤은 해보는 곡이 바로 이곡이랍니다. ㅎㅎㅎ 저도 그랬구요.... 아름다운 전주를 조금 흉내내보면 "와! 이런 소리가 나는구나" 하던 곡이네요. 아마도 익숙한 멜로디일듯 하네요. 물론, 쬐금 되신분들이요. ㅎㅎㅎ
