그 재미의 시작은 단연 속칭 스트립 (Strip) 이라 불리우는 Las Vegas Boulevard의 거리부터입니다.
15번 고속도로와 평행으로 뻗은 라스베가스 대로죠. 이 양옆으로 라스베가스의 상징같은 호텔들이 죽 늘어서 있고, 각 호텔마다 특징있는 쇼와 식당 혹은 기념물들로 사활을 건 경쟁을 하고 있습니다. 물론, 모든 호텔에는 카지노들이 들어서 있죠. 지도에서 가장 큰 크기를 자랑하는 MGM Grand는 객실수가 가장 많은 5,005개라고 합니다.
불야성인 라스베가스는 어딜가도 사진이 됩니다.
너무 밝아서 플래쉬가 필요없는 곳이기도 하죠. 요 아래에는 마이크 타이슨 형님이 곧잘 경기하던 시저스팰러스 호텔이 있구요.......
이런 호텔들을 구경하고 다니는것도 하나의 관광입니다.
각 호텔마다 참 독특한 외관을 자랑하기도 합니다.
분수쇼로 유명한 웅장한 벨라지오 호텔도.....
뉴욕의 거리를 옮겨 놓은듯한 뉴욕뉴욕.... 저 뒤로 보이는 저 무서운 롤러코스터를 보세요. ㅠㅠ
베네치안 호텔은 호텔을 따라 수로를 만들어 곤돌라를 띄우고 노래를 불러주기도 하는 서비스를 합니다. 참 예뻐서 꼭 사진을 찍고 싶던 곳이죠.
이렇게 돈들이지 않고도 라스베가스를 즐길수 있는 관광은 많습니다.
각 호텔내부로 들어가 (우린 카지노에서 뿜어대는 담배냄새때문에 정말 견디기 힘들어 되도록 하지 않았지만요...) 구경하는 재미도 참 아기자기 합니다.
물론, 카지노가 메인이니 카지노를 경험삼아 해보는 것도 좋을것 같습니다.
우리도 하루는 지수혼자 TV보라 하고 내려가서 10불정도씩 땡기고 왔습니다. ㅎㅎ 2시간 가량 재미있게 놀았으니 그리 비싼 편은 아니라는 생각이 들긴 하더군요. 다만, 돈을 따려 한다면 엄청난 출혈이 있을수 있으니 한계는 명확하게 할 필요가 있을듯 하고, 정말 큰 도박은 슬롯머신이 아니라 포커테이블이기때문에 슬롯머신은 그냥 논다는 개념으루다가.... 간혹 잭팟이 터져 수십만불을 벌었다는 사람 이야기는 있지만, 그게 그리 쉬운 일은 아니랍니다. ㅎㅎㅎ
